Isobel Garner
Isobel, a Chartered Engineer, joined Newton in early 2012 in the role of Senior Advisor following a varied career in both the private sector and for the last 15 years, the public sector. She has been operating with Board level accountability for almost 20 years, including positions at Bristol City Council, Oxford City Council and Wrexham County Borough Council.
With her unparalleled understanding of the Public Sector, Isobel has successfully implemented a range of strategic programmes, including: driving a council through a period of rapid change that necessitated a 25% revenue reduction; and rapid turnaround of a number of local goverment services
In Isobel’s more recent position of Chief Executive of Wrexham County Borough Council, a Welsh Unitary Authority with a turnover of over £330m and 6500 staff, she created a reputation for the council that embodied success and innovation, whilst operating within a strong corporate governance framework.
Isobel has a portfolio career where she uses her skills and experience to help bring about successful, sustainable improvements within public services.
