Company Car
A driving licence and car is essential to this job, and when you join us you will have the choice of using your own car or accepting a company car. Typically a new consultant's car is an Audi A3 or equivalent, and this will be upgraded on promotion. All business mileage, insurance and tax is covered.
Newton actively encourages safer driving – very early on in your career you will take a brief defensive driving course to highlight any major issues. You will then have to pass the Institute of Advance Motorists (IAM) test before you can have an upgraded car.
During the week
You will have the choice of living in a good hotel or an apartment / holiday cottage depending on location. Examples are a marina-facing apartment in Plymouth, a gorgeous small hotel in the Suffolk countryside with fantastic food, a beach front hotel in Poole, a hotel on the edge of the Peak District complete with golf course and gym, and a holiday cottage in Snowdonia. All your food, drink and accommodation will be covered.
Review days
Every other week we meet up in a hotel to catch up on all the projects, run through future plans and do some training. Typically the location varies between Oxford, Cheltenham and West London. We get together on the Thursday night for dinner and a few drinks, with the occasional game of 5-aside football or similar. The evenings have a fantastic atmosphere and it is a great chance to catch up with everyone and let your hair down after an intense week on site. The Friday meetings are a way of sharing your site results and problems, and especially for getting ideas and advice from everyone else. Meetings are finished by mid-afternoon so that everyone can be home in good time to enjoy their Friday night.
Weekends
Whether at a review day or on site you will leave on Friday in time to be home by 6pm and enjoy your Friday night. We value our weekends – you work hard during the week and the weekend is your time, you won't be working.
