What is the role?

Our business has grown by 20-30% a year ever since it was created. We bring in the brightest and best and develop them rapidly to deliver exceptional results to our clients and become leaders in our business. This role will play a key part of continuing that trend.

We have an exceptional programme of development from our core training courses to our on-line offerings to personalised support at all levels. But we need to do better and do more, particularly around developing our leaders to lead in a world class business and honing the capabilities and approach we use to build our sales pipeline.

We are also still a young business, so you won’t find yourself blocked by bureaucracy, but you will find several areas where we need to continue to evolve our approach to meet our evolving business challenges.

You will work for the head of our Talent Development team and closely with the People Director on one of the business’s key priorities; to develop inspirational leaders who will stretch the business ambition whilst continuing to nurture an ethos and culture which sets us apart from other consultancies.

You will be responsible for all learning and development for the senior leaders (Director, Partner and Founding Partner) across the leadership of the Consulting team and Head Office. We want to impress our clients with our leading edge and creative approach to leadership development, as well as making a fundamental difference to business success and growth.

You will also be responsible for understanding, developing and then driving the business changes necessary for us to meet our current and future leadership needs. This will include (but is not limited to):

Core day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a strong offering for our Directors and Leaders
  • Enhancing our approach to developing Business Development capability
  • Developing a range of creative and leading edge development solutions, including our on-line platform
  • Bringing fresh thinking and thought leadership to the rest of the Talent Development team.

You will have regular access to the board level in the business and will have close relationships with a leadership team in the business who are passionate about development and take a personal interest in our broader learning and development programme. You will also work closely with your colleagues in the People team to deliver a joined-up approach and robust people processes.You’ll be a high calibre individual, with exceptional levels of personal drive and eagerness for personal development. You’ll have an analytical mind, coupled with strong communication skills and a positive attitude are essential to fit into the Newton culture.

  • Extensive learning and development experience, including up to Board level
  • A pleasure to deal with
  • Leadership development experience
  • Experience of growing business development capability.
  • Creative approach to learning; passionate about developing people
  • Capable of leading a group of stakeholders through change
  • Credible with senior stakeholders with analytical backgrounds
  • Willingness to learn Newton balanced with a desire to Demand Better from it!
