What is the role?
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), or final stage CIMA to join us as a Management Accountant. Sitting in our pivotal finance team, you will report directly to the Finance Operations Manager, and join a team of 8 including 7 qualified accountants.
Your core responsibilities will span a range of finance processes. You will spend some of your time on the purchase ledger – both completing the required bookkeeping but also supporting the wider budget reporting and management, requiring you to develop relationships into the various internal departments and gain exposure to the wider business.
You will also have responsibilities in a range of month-end areas, such as maintaining the fixed assets register, completing monthly balance sheet packs and maintaining the companies finance leases.
A further area of responsibility will relate to our practice management system (built on the Salesforce platform) and will include examples such as ensuring data integrity and administering employee expenses.
Your educaction, skills and experience:
You’ll be an experienced accountant with high levels of accuracy and technical competence. You will be comfortable working both accurately and quickly, completing bookkeeping tasks as well as carrying out more technically demanding pieces of work, and will derive satisfaction from doing both well. You will also have strong, engaging communication skills and having a positive attitude is essential to fit into the Newton culture. The successful candidate will also possess the following attributes:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified/final stage with several years experience operating as a management accountant
- Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Highly numerate with a strong proficiency in MS Excel
- Experience of Salesforce – desirable but not essential
