WHAT IS THE ROLE?

We are currently a team of over 400 client facing consultants and 150 Head Office staff at Newton. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a bright and capable Accounts Administration Assistant to join our Finance team in a permanent role based in our Head Office in Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire.

The finance function sits at the heart of the business, not only controlling and reporting financial performance as custodians of a £120m / £40m profit business, but also constantly evolving and adapting to the business’ rapid year on year growth.

The key requirements of the role will be: - Review and approve employee expenses on our expense platform - Set up employee expenses payment runs on our finance system - Inputting purchase ledger invoices where required - Working with suppliers to ensure we have complete documentation to enable data reconciliation and VAT recovery

The role will report to the Financial Controller however it will require regular interaction with the Finance Operations team to ensure priorities are aligned. As part of this role we will expect you to constantly look for ways things can be improved and become a peer of the team in terms of challenging our processes and ways of working. We are flexible on exploring if the role should be part-time (3 or 4 days) or full time based on the candidate’s experience and preferences.

YOUR EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Having experience in working in a similar role is required. Having a finance related qualification is seen as an advantage but is not essential based on experience. We want you to be diligent and rigorous, while also being empathetic to other Newton employees. Having a positive attitude is essential to fit into the Newton culture.
