Employer Brand Content Specialist

The details

What is the role?

The Employer Brand Content Specialist is a new role that will work within the Employer Brand team to help build awareness of Newton as an employer of choice through the creation of compelling content and copy.

Building and managing an organisation’s reputation as an employer has been proven to demonstrably increase the quality of individuals we hire, the level of engagement that existing employees have and, ultimately, can be shown to assist in the profitability of the organisation overall. Developing a coherent, compelling and relevant employer brand message is therefore a vital part of our ongoing people strategy.

An important part of employer brand is storytelling. Telling the story of life at Newton, who we are and what we stand for as an employer in an authentic voice that resonates externally and with our people. The content specialist will develop our tone of voice and then create content that reflects our voice to show who we are, our values and our culture. We are looking for someone who is creative, with strong writing and storytelling skills and a passion for communication.

General responsibilities

To present the whole story of what it is like to work at Newton we are looking for an internal communications specialist dedicated to creating compelling employer brand messaging and communications for use across our main marketing channels. You’ll work closely with the Employer Brand team to create content that aligns Newton’s goals with the right audiences.

Tone of voice is important to ensure that our voice is reflective of who we are as people to work with. It needs to be human and authentic. You’ll be key to creating this and then ensuring that it is embedded across our communications.

You will also need to get under the skin of our key target audiences to create messaging that resonates for our major campaigns. Working closely with the Employer Brand team to understand these audiences and the overall campaign brief, you’ll create a messaging framework and work as part of the campaign team to create engaging content across a variety of formats (insight reports, web copy, blogs, advert copy, emails etc). You will also manage external suppliers to ensure a consistent tone of voice and compelling messaging with any external communications deliverables.

Day to day responsibilities will be varied, targeting a number of different audiences and using a variety of formats to convey our employer brand tone of voice and messaging:

Copywriting for key assets:

Create content for key collateral, including brochures, flyers, candidate packs, Newton culture deck, web page and digital assets such as awareness and recruitment adverts and landing pages.

Inside Newton Blogs

Create a pipeline of blog ideas to generate a consistent stream of content for Newton and work with internal ‘authors’ to create authentic content to share on our Inside Newton blog page.

Podcasts

Research for future ideas/speakers. Work closely with the internal and external production team to generate a production script and discussion guide. Provide copy support for Newton Talks podcast promotional activities, and asset creation.

Newton’s ‘Big Idea’ Insight report

Work with an external agency and internal team to drive the research and creation of compelling Insight report and supporting assets including web page/content assets. Support the roll out and promotion of the ‘Big idea’ report insights through a multi-channel communications approach.

Awards

Create compelling award entries for Newton to showcase our people and our key people initiatives (including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, talent, recruitment campaigns, our ‘stars’).

Video content

Work with the creative specialist and social media coordinator in the creation of people storytelling videos.

Talent pipelining

Work with Employer Brand business partners and our talent coordinator to create pipeline of engaging communications for our Experienced Hire and Graduate audiences as part of our talent nurturing process.

Your education, skills and experience:

You’ll be a high calibre individual, with exceptional levels of personal drive and eagerness for personal development. A natural communicator, coupled with strong interpersonal and creative skills and a positive attitude are essential to fit into the Newton culture.

This role is an ideal opportunity for someone who has worked within communications or marketing role who is looking for a broad communications experience within the fast-growing area of employer brand.
