WHAT IS THE ROLE?

Newton work on all kinds of projects, in virtually any sector. Such as making daily working life simpler and more effective for thousands of supermarket shop floor staff, for instance. Or ensuring more social care service users lead independent lives. Or enabling thousands more patients to be seen in clinics.

As such, you’ll face the agility and entrepreneurial nature of a start-up but with the security, resource, and opportunity of an already successful consultancy.

The Cloud Engineer will build and maintain our cloud infrastructure including our integration engine. You will work with the wider team to ensuring that our end users have an efficient and effective technology service built on a reliable and secure technology infrastructure. You be working closely with stakeholders across our organisation to meet both project and BAU (Business as usual) demands.

In this role, you will:

• Design & deploy Azure Integration Services, that meets the needs of our technology teams for project delivery. While maintaining those already in a BAU (Business as usual) state.
• Implement best practices regarding Azure Integration Services, whilst maintaining security principles.
• Implementation of the defined standards & supporting the continued improvement to supporting documentation
• Acting as a Cloud & Integrations specialist during incident management or complex support issues
• Supporting the wider IT team by advocating for innervation within the platforms to help create, maintain, and deliver the cloud operations roadmap.
• Working with our clients to deploy projects into diverse technology environments while meeting scalability and reliability requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with multiple teams and business stakeholders, to gather requirements, communicate project progress, and provide technical guidance.
• Continuously explore and evaluate new tools, technologies, and best practices related to cloud integrations, API development, and DevOps to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

The role will require some travel with a combination of working from our office and remotely with potential travel to client sites across the UK were beneficial. We’re open to conversations to how this works best for you.

YOUR EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

You’ll be a high calibre individual, with exceptional levels of personal drive and eagerness for personal development. Essential experience we’re looking for includes:

• Azure Integration Services: Proficient in utilizing Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and API Management to design and implement integration solutions.
• API Development: Solid understanding and practical experience with SOAP and REST APIs, including designing, developing, and managing APIs for secure and efficient data exchange.
• Azure Data Lakes: Experience working with Azure Data Lakes, including data ingestion, storage, and processing, leveraging technologies such as Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Data Lake Analytics.
• Proficiency in using Bicep, the Azure-native infrastructure-as-code (IaC) language, for provisioning and managing Azure resources.
• Strong expertise in building and testing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring smooth and automated deployment of integration solutions.
• Experience with Github version control.
• Microsoft Azure Certifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Desirable:

• Microsoft Azure Certifications.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
• Experience with other environments such as Linux
• Knowledge of Python and related data science stacks (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Azure Machine Learning Service and Studio, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks)
• Containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Agile frameworks and practices and tools such as Azure Boards or Miro
• Salesforce: Hands-on experience working with Salesforce APIs, such as SOAP API, REST API, Bulk API, or Streaming API, to integrate Salesforce with other business systems and applications within Newton.
